The Boat Tender

Going ashore by tender Andrew and Ian waiting to take the tender

When our vessels drop anchor, it is always offshore, which ensures the tranquility and seclusion for which our Scottish cruises are famous. The boat tender is used to get onshore, which is a bit of an adventure for some of our guests but very safe, the trip never lasting more than a few minutes. Stepping from the boat into the tender is by three steps on a fixed stair and help is always on hand. Even guests with restricted mobility are delighted at their ability to get onshore in this unique way. Our tenders are Pioneer Multi, very versatile spacious boats with a 50 horsepower engine, licensed to carry 8 persons . They have a unique bow door system, like a landing craft, which makes going ashore on beaches very simple. The tender is also available for fishing, laying creels and for short exploratory trips along the coastline when the boat is at anchor.

Once onshore, guests enjoy exploring local Scottish historic buildings, communities and spotting wildlife. A favourite is to be dropped off by tender on one part of the coast for a one-way walk and getting picked up again by the tender at the end.
