Our Heritage and Wildlife Cruise of South Argyll explores the sheltered sea lochs of the spectacular Cowal Peninsula rich in wildlife. If you are lucky you might spot porpoises, basking sharks and even the odd whale and there are many varieties of birds to be seen on the water and onshore. Visit the Islands of Bute and Arran and visit pretty coastal towns, fishing communities, historic castles and gardens.
Cruise highlights may include:
- Cruise Loch Long to Arrocher and enjoy a tranquil dinner at anchor off Carrick Castle in the stunning Loch Goil
- Sail to the Isle of Bute and explore the pretty coastal town of Rothesay
- Visit Rothesay Castle and the amazing Mount Stuart House and Gardens
- Cruise the beautiful Kyles of Bute and anchor in remote Loch Riddon and take an evening stroll along its banks.
- Help the crew drop lobster pots from the boat tender or try your hand at fishing
- Explore the colourful village of East Loch Tarbert
- Take a morning coastal walk to Tighnabruaich
- Sail to East Loch Tarbert and anchor off Stonefield Castle for the night with the opportunity to go ashore to see the gardens
- Cruise Loch Fyne to Inveraray, explore the town and choose from several delightful walks
- Sail the coast of Arran, calling in at Lochranza and visiting the distillery there
- Visit Brodick Castle and Gardens and try locally produced cheeses, beers and aromatics
Getting to Holy Loch: If arriving by train to Glasgow, take the connection to Gourock which includes the ferry trip to Dunoon. If arriving at Glasgow Airport, we provide a free pick up at 2pm on the Saturday for boarding at Holy Loch at 4pm. If arriving by car, Holy Loch Marina provides secure overnight parking at £7.00 per night. Free unsecured paring is available approximately 250 yards from the marina at a public car park.
