Cruise Highlights 2017

All season our guests have been telling us about their highlights from their cruises. Here are just a selection of their wonderful memories!

Puffin therapy was a highlight for many guests

It was the achievement of a dream to sit beside puffins. Mabel Campbell 6 – 12 May

The weather was excellent on our visit to Lunga and the puffins were very photogenic. Val & Mary Llewellyn, 13 – 19 May

The puffins on Lunga were a bucket list tick for both of us. Jean Goldsack, 27 May – 2 June.

For me the puffins were my highlight, for my husband John, the fishing and for both of us the peace, beauty and fresh air. Patsy Morrison, 20 – 26 May

My favourite memory from our cruise was sitting on a cliff, in the middle of a colony of puffins on Mingulay, on a beautiful sunny day. Ronald Diprose, 1 – 11 July

Watching the puffins nesting and squabbling and seeing otters and red deer swimming was special. Claudine Arnold, 29 April – 5 May

Our best cruise yet. Highlights were the puffins and Fingal's cave and the food. James Caldwell, 22 – 28 April

Visits to the wheelhouse were very popular!

Time spent in the wheelhouse 'chatting up' the Skipper was a pleasure. Susan Waldmeyer, 16 – 19 May

Visits to the bridge were interesting for me having spent 45 years working in shipping. John Brechin, 8 – 14 April

Idyllic anchorages and remote coastal islands featured a lot in guests highlights

Every anchorage was stunning. The crew are so well informed about walks, shore visits and lots of other information about the area which they shared, it was all 5*. Elizabeth Leggate, 24 – 27 June

On our second night we anchored off Eilean Donan Castle – it was perfect. John Boyd, 27 May – 2 June

This cruise was the highlight of our UK holiday as it was so different - it was relaxing, fun and very interesting - a great mixture of exercise, socialising and enjoying the beautiful of Scotland. I asked Neil if we could visit the Eileen Donan castle and Tobermory and both were achieved. We saw a great mix of villages, lochs and scenery. Ann Clough, 1 – 7 July

Seeing Scotland from the sea was a major highlight for us coming all the way from USA. Malcolm Brown, 3 – 9 June

Visiting Loch Coruisk on Skye was very special for me. Janet Scott, 29 July – 4 August

I grew up in Kinlochleven but had never visited the Outer Hebrides or Knoydart. It was a great way to see them. Mairi Eastwood, 6 – 16 May

I will always remember our visits to St Kilda, Vatersay and Taransay. Donald Gordon, 3 – 13 June

It just has to be the trip to St Kilda - so special. Anthony Hurden, 15 – 25 July

Mingulay was a fairy tale. I will always adore the island of Muck where I photographed the white horse of Muck, Barra was beautiful, Portree so pretty, and unexpected delights like Canna and little Scalpay helped make this the best cruise. Gay Bowie, 1 – 11 July

Wildlife spotting from the boat happened throughout the season!

Watching dolphins riding the bow wave of the ship was very special. Jane Porter, 1 – 7 July

We saw our first white tailed eagle, when Skipper Robert cruised slowly past it in a tree and it flew off in front of us, Majestic! Marie Trueman, 29 July – 4 August

Seeing the whales, dolphins, puffins and eagles from the boat was very memorable. Elizabeth Tench, 1 – 11 July

Gournet food featured in many people's favourite memories

We especially enjoyed getting the fresh mussels. Christine Marks, 15 – 18 April

The food was Michelin star class and the fine wine was well received. Gus Lawrie, 27 – 30 June

The food was better than any cruise we have ever been on. Eric Harper, 1 – 11 July

The hospitality aboard our vessels from all four crews helped make the best guest experience!

We enjoyed ourselves so much. Neil, Margereta, Adam and Ray were excellent. They made a splendid team and it was simply one of the most enjoyable trips we have ever made. We have every intention of booking again, probably for 2019. Michael Eades, 22 – 28 April

Mike the chef, was just simply 'AMAZING' and fed us superbly. Darin as steward did everything to please us that he could and could anticipate. Adam surprised us with his maturity and pleasant nature and did an excellent job as boatman. Ian found the most tranquil and enchanting lochs to overnight and visit and did an excellent job of guiding us to the best side of Scotland with his local skill and knowledge. Cheri Tory, 17 – 27 June

The attention, knowledge, communication and interaction of Robert and his crew was simply magnificent. It was all presented with safety as a number one priority but delivered in a way that was authentic but not in anyway anthing, other than comforting. Andrew Murray, 12 – 15 August

The crew were excellent – Michael the chef prepared wonderful meals. Marina the Bosun & Robert the Engineer were absolutely lovely. Martin is a good and knowledgeable Skipper and a superb, professional and very nice man. Alan Craft, 17 - 23 June
